Apple is now bigger than Belgium

The never-ending Apple success story has reached a new peak; its market value, 259 billion dollar, has become larger than the sum of the value of all companies on the Belgian stock market together. One important reason is that Apple has suffered less from the financial crisis thanks to its continuing innovation,  contrary to most companies in our country. This means that local governments are no longer able to meet the new challenges caused by globalisation. That’s why we need strong, supranational institutions having power to keep things under control.
